Virginia Bread Company was started with a united love for genuinely amazing bread.
Owners Ainslie and Colin met in culinary school and quickly found that they they shared the same interests. Once they graduated, they began jobs with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. Ainslie was the pastry chef at the Williamsburg Inn, and Colin was at the Williamsburg Lodge. Still, they knew that something more was waiting for them. For a year or two, they dreamed of building a business together.
In April 2018, they opened Virginia Bread Company. Ainslie had a history with farmers markets, learning by experience at the booth of her mother, Maureen Anderson of Tasha’s Own Goats Milk Soap. Colin also had experience working for years in bread bakeries.
Virginia Bread Company specializes in sourdough products. Sourdough can be found in many of their pastries, including the sourdough boule, baguettes, and even croissants!
Sourdough is truly their passion, not only for its spectacular flavor, but also for its incredible health promoting properties.
Virginia Bread Company is honored to be a part of the Williamsburg Farmers Market and to have the opportunity to share their fantastic breads!
