Bernice Slater, James City County
How It All Started…. In 1917, Papa Slater (Edward Slater) of Lanexa, Virginia took his old truck with a load of vegetables down to Williamsburg where he set up on Duke of Gloucester Street and our business was born. Papa Slater sold his vegetables through the summer and as the temperatures got cooler, he started taking fresh wreaths down for Christmas. Today, we are a 4th generation family owned and operated business here in beautiful Williamsburg, Virginia! We have three generations working year round to bring you the freshest and most beautiful decorations possible! Christmas traditions in each family are very special; our Christmas tradition is making the perfect wreath to enhance your families’ holiday joy.
