Producer Certified

Producer CertChoose the food less traveled
The Williamsburg Farmers Market is a manager-inspected, producer only farmers market. Our market offers only produce and goods that are Virginia Grown. The fruits and vegetables are from local farms, the cookies and cakes made by local bakers and the handcrafted items are all made by local artisans. Shopping at WFM provides a forum for learning how food is grown, who grew it and why it tastes so good.

Producer only
A Producer only farmers market is a market at which producers, their family members or employees are permitted to sell direct to consumers items they have themselves produced.

Our Standards
The following standards were developed to ensure consumers shopping at our market are purchasing the best local products available.

Three categories of producers are eligible to apply to sell at the Williamsburg Farmers Market:

  1. Producers of locally grown fruit and vegetables, and locally raised meat, eggs and dairy, sold directly by producers;
  2. Producers of fresh prepared foods, beverages or other products as outlined in our guidelines;
  3. Local artisans who create high-quality goods from their own plants and property.
