Williamsburg Farmers Market (WFM) is seeking applicants from the Greater Williamsburg community interested in serving on the Board of Directors. The mission includes fostering and operating a weekly farmers market in the City of Williamsburg for growers and producers, primarily of Eastern Virginia, that features fresh, seasonal food and farm products for sale directly to the consumer.
WFM’s volunteer Board of Directors consists of individuals interested in farmers markets, sustainable food systems, and land conservation.
BOARD MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Board members serve three-year terms. The Board generally meets in person monthly. Board members are expected to serve on committees as necessary. Board members develop policies and procedures, provide oversight of market staff and operations, approve the budget, and are actively involved in strategic planning.
We are seeking Board members with the following skill sets:
- Experience with farmers, farming, sustainable food systems, or land conservation

- Marketing / Communication
- Program management/evaluation
